Wounded Warrior team announces 2014 tournament date | Sports & Recreation
The following is a news release from the Wounded Warrior Amputee Softball Team:
The Wounded Warrior Amputee Softball Team (WWAST), a nationally recognized team comprised of amputee active duty military personnel and veterans, has announced that it will once again visit Sulphur June 20-21, 2014. A committee has been formed to begin working on event details, and sponsorship opportunities will be announced in the coming months.
Last year’s tournament raised over $200,000 to help support the team’s mission of raising awareness of the sacrifices and resilience of military personnel despite the challenges arising from being an amputee. Their goal is to demonstrate that unlimited possibilities exist for those with disabilities.
